2026 MABA Season Set to Be the Best Yet
The countdown is officially on and excitement is building across the region as the 2026 Mid-America Basketball Association (MABA) season approaches. After a landmark year of growth and competition, MABA is poised to deliver its biggest, deepest, and most competitive season to date.
Adding to the momentum, the league proudly welcomes two new franchises to the MABA family: the Lincoln Cobras and the Walnut Valley Bombers. Their arrival marks a major step forward in the league’s mission to expand opportunities, elevate competition, and strengthen basketball communities across the Midwest.
The Lincoln Cobras enter the league as a newly formatted team. New Owner, Zach Werkmeister experience comes from the 402 Elite recent success in Omaha. As the Cobras look to build their reputation, toughness and discipline can be expected to challenge every opponent they face. Meanwhile, the Walnut Valley Bombers , return as Cowley County’s semi-pro basketball team. With a new brand identity and renewed focus on community connection, the Bombers are entering the next stage of development as they gear up for their 2026 pilot season. They'll bring a physical edge and a passionate fan base, ready to make an immediate impact in their inaugural season.
“These additions raise the bar for everyone,” said MABA leadership. “Expansion isn’t just about adding teams; it’s about enhancing the quality of play and creating more meaningful opportunities for athletes, coaches, and communities.”
With returning teams reloading rosters, rivalries continuing to grow, and new matchups on the horizon, the 2026 MABA season is shaping up to be the most competitive yet. Fans can expect higher intensity, deeper benches, and a league-wide commitment to professional standards on and off the court.
As tip-off draws closer, one thing is clear: MABA basketball is on the rise. New teams. New energy. Same mission.
The 2026 MABA season is coming and it’s ready to make history. 🏀🔥Schedule
